Today we went to the South Australian Society of Models and Experimental Engineering- otherwise known as SASMEE. There were trains, there were boats, there were steam engines, there was lots of exhausting fun to be had with friends!

This past week has also had some exciting news. I am now the very proud mama of a toilet-trained boy. I really thought it was going to be a hellish experience- I’ve heard so many horror stories. So I must admit that I have been putting it off & putting it off. Well, I finally decided to give it a go because there’s nothing like being left behind whilst all your friends tackle the toilet monster & your cherub is still in plastic.
Things did not look at all promising on Day Number 1 about mid-morning, when all that seemed to have clicked was Ashie’s desire to wear his trousers on his head.
But by mid-afternoon we had a breakthrough and from then on it’s been easy peasy. Wow! Who would have thought?
I somehow managed to capture his first request informing me of a pressing need to visit the bathroom…
Onto another random topic, check out the rose bush in our front yard. Beautiful.

Congrats on the toilet training Lou. One of the hardest jobs of being a mother checked off. Done and Dusted. Tell Ash to keep up the good work.
Thinking of you and Paul.
