Heat relief

20 Nov

It’s what we all needed & it’s finally here.
Just in time for my birthday. Hooray!

We are going away for the weekend to Wirrabara. Bushfires have been in that area, so we have been wondering if we would actually be able to get there, but thankfully the cool change has meant it is safe for us to go. We are staying at an organic stonefruit orchard. Yummy!!!!!

I have also been spoilt in advance of my birthday by my lovely hubby. Last Sunday, he surprised me with breakfast at Henley Beach, where we met a friend (who is a jeweller). She is making me an eternity ring. How lucky am I?

The whole buying a new house saga is still moving slooooowly. We have our fingers crossed that it will settle on time. Fingers crossed, but not holding my breath! I have a feeling it might not get done & we will have to delay by a few days or even a week. No big deal really, although I am getting super excited about not having to live out of a suitcase.

Half a year

18 Aug

Today, A is six months old.  We have had a very lovely day together & I hope this is a sign of things to come- lots of love, cuddles, laughter, tickles, general happiness & well-being for both of us!

I am busy preparing for my first class on Wednesday.  I thought I had a class of eleven students but it turns out that only eight are now enrolled.  So it will be a nice & cosy classroom.

Onto other things…I have been thinking about my 30th birthday next year.  The reason why is because yesterday I went to a very good friend’s 30th birthday brunch.  It was great.  I have so much admiration and respect for my friend & her husband & how they parent their two young children (C was actually born on the same day as A so they are birthday buddies!)  There was a lot of delicious brunchy food, the theme was yellow (gorgeous daffodils) & everyone had a fantastic time.  I think I would like to do something similar for my party next year.  I had thought that I would hire out a French restaurant for a 3 course dinner or something like that, but that was before life with kids!  So I think it will be easier to accommodate families etc, if we have a party at home- I’m thinking a Sunday afternoon tea.  Maybe a dainty English tea, or even something Frenchy would work (think croissants & pastries & coffee- yum).

Today I’ve also been lucky to meet someone new- a lady with a lot of knowledge & passion for cloth nappies.  So I’ve been inspired & am once again renewed in my quest to keep my baby’s bot bot all soft & fluffy!!!!
